PURPOSE: The International Day of Yoga is obseved every year on 21 june, The aim of the day is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. A new normal requires new habits and some creative thinking about your psychological well-being. Now that many of us are forced to work remotely full-time, need to take care of young and old family members during working hours, are feeling stuck or isolated, are separated from loved ones, and have reduced options for regular physical exercise and social activities, we must think differently and creatively about ways to keep healthy in mind and body.

FORUM: "Yoga for 'The World is One Family." International Day of Yoga 2023. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. EVENTS: Join the Yoga lessons to mark the International Day of Yoga 2023 at United Nations North Lawn Building. The U.N. Permanent Mission of India to the U.N. in collaboration with the UN Secretariat, is organizing the 9th International Day of Yoga under the theme "Yoga for Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" [Yoga for 'The World is One Family']. Delegates from the UN Member States, Officials and staff of the UN secretariat as well as eminent persons from all walks of life in New York, will be participating in the event. In India, Internationally renowned as the ‘go-to’ place for learning yoga, the main iDY2023 event is set to be a huge exercise, if you want to participate explore the calendar.

With roots in India, yoga is now practiced worldwide, giving people of all faiths and walks of life the tools and practices they need to enhance and balance their physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing. For hundreds of millions of people worldwide, yoga has also been an essential lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an important means of coping with the challenges of social isolation and stress.
